Harris Teeter has three things I miss:
    --- A nice upscale feel.
    --- By 2, get 3 free deals.
--- Soft pretzels that aren't frozen.

I really need to move back to Charlotte.

Albertson's is our closest market. Their deal is posting a price, then below is a lower price if you buy 2 or 3 or 4, etc. Like, Fritos Scoops are $4.49. But if you buy four bags, the price is $3.49 each.
The weirdest one I remember was for Vermouth. I keep a bottle for the 3 or 4 times a year I make Manhattans at home. Bottle was getting low, so I next time at the market I was going to get a new one. One bottle was (don't remember, something like) $11.99. But if you buy six, they are $9.99 each. Who the hell buys 6 bottles of Vermouth. Only a bar owner, but they don't shop at the market, they get all of their stuff from liquor distributors.

There was a Harris Teeter near where we stayed in Norfolk. Really nice store, tad better than Stop and Shop.

I’d like you to meet my great aunt Lucille, who drove her Caprice Classic through the front of a Wendy’s in 1989.

Aldi, Lidl are good low cost options for people.

We tried Aldi’s a few times, but the mea lt wasn’t great and my wife spent an hour trimming fat. You can save money, but it didn’t have everything, at least for us.

Aldi's definitely no one-stop shop. Soft-drink selection is abysmal, as is pet food. Still, we spent $21 there today for things that would have cost $50 at Publix, so . . .

It could be worse. Your stores could always jack up prices ahead of a BOGO so you think you’re getting a BOGO but you’re actually paying regular price for both (allegedly).

Also apologies to any Safeway employees who frequent this board. And to @ChrisLong ’s point, Albertsons and Safeway have the same ownership.

Depends on how busy they are and when their delivery is scheduled. If they’re running low on Saturday night and the delivery ain’t until Tuesday, they’re gonna load up wherever they can.

Aldi and Walmart are across the street near where I live. Walmart is consistently cheaper on everything.

Just wait if the Kroger-Albertson's merger goes through.
