“I’m not a victim because someone else wasn’t called out. But they should’ve been called out, so I’m a victim of hypocrisy.” Just another way of saying what you just said.

If love you long time offends but ho lee fuk doesn't ... both "wrong" "casual" "racist" things to say ... then that's where the board is.

Victimhood has nothing to do with it.

Bridesmaids is 12 years old. It made twice as much in its opening weekend as Joy Ride has made in 3 weeks.

Something has shifted with comedy. Big time. And, again, I'm not holding the idea of comedy up as some sacred cow.

Speaking of QT, I'll go ahead and condemn his use (and overuse) of the n-word as gratuitous.

On the other hand, I won't condemn it in Do the Right Thing or Huckleberry Finn, since those are two of the most profound meditations on race in American art.

    Go figure.

Sure. I grant a shift in public taste(s) absolutely.

And I think there's some uncertainty around who can say funny things about whom.

But these are smaller films tailored for smaller audiences, too.

Guess it doesn’t. You just wanted to make sure everyone knew you’d been done wrong.

As for the first part, I’ve already said both are wrong. And funny how you say you learned what you said was wrong but then put racist in parentheses like you’re really not sure. Says a lot.

    Non-sequitur. Disingenuous.

No, I'm quoting another poster who emphasized the sentiment.

First off, I was 100 percent sincere in my interpretation of what you said based on how many times you’ve made sure to repeat it.

And if you accepted that it’s racist, why do you have to quote someone else?

Because your “casual racism” is “wrong.” Sorry your actual causal racism is actually wrong. No quotes.

As for Ho Lee Fuk, that’s a nice diversion from what you said. I’ll worry about what others write when they use it to denigrate an entire group of people or start a thread in a thinly veiled attempt to defend it.

IT'S VERY USE denigrates an entire group of people. No need to examine it under a microscope.

Or as Shaquille O'Neal so astutely pointed out, "Tell Yao Ming, ‘Ching-chong-yang-wah-ah-soh.’”
