Holy fuck. Buckle up, our Florida friends, those along the Gulf coast and those on the East coast. Shit’s gonna get real.

Obviously the water temp couldn’t have been 100-degrees is 40 miles away it wasn’t 100-degrees. Also, my brother lied about getting rain on Sunday at his house 47-miles from mine because we didn’t get a single drop!

There are going to be a lot of bleached, dead reefs.

Can confirm this. Really wanted to take the train from London to Amsterdam in March but it was close to triple the price of a BA flight from Gatwick to Schipol. So to the air I went ... (also, transit strikes in France basically made that trip impossible at that time, but I digress...)

If you're taking a train from London to Amsterdam, you're taking a train from London to (likely some spare French intermediary before Paris) to Brussels to Amsterdam. Some moving parts there.

Correct. There was going to be some passport control stuff and I was willing to endure it just to kind of enjoy seeing some of the Belgian/Dutch countryside rather than just go airport to airport, but the cost was prohibitive and I was told (at the time) by some folks I saw at the Hold Steady shows in London that getting through France was an absolute shitshow due to their transit strikes. They ended up eating the cost and getting a cheap flight back to London. Seems like train travel within continental Europe is more reasonable, taking the UK piece out of it.

    Water temp is "unfathomable"?

    Catch me, I'm falling!

Water temperature rose to a level impossible to measure the extent of . . . so we're going to spend the next 15 paragraphs trying to explain the extent of this measurement.
