The oil seems to work, but… Riley’s trippin’. I think she’s thinking about how she can ask for some Doritos and Twinkies. Her previous owner told us Benadryl works, and we tried it, but it seems to take forever to kick in.

I used CBD for Niklas Lidstrom's dementia. Some days it helped, some days it was like living with a small Asian lapdog version of Jim Bruer. A friend made him some doggie edibles. He loved those.

The birds in the feeder are so close she can just taste them.

Edit: That's a double pane of glass window, and there's a feeder suction cupped to the outside glass. The bird she's watching is perhaps as much as ten inches in front of her nose.

Just saw the “other” side of the love of pets; our 11 yr Aussie had a seizure on our walk this AM and I thought we lost him. Never seen that before and man I was soooo sad in those few mins. I ran home to get car and he snapped out of it with wifey cradling him. He’s a big part of my /out life. I know it’s coming but not now please.

A few years ago we come home to find our dog walking around in the backyard like a drunken sailor. We were sure he had some kind of stroke, but it turned out to be something they call Idiopathic Vestibular Disease (aka "Old Dog Disease"), where the dog just loses his sense of balance. But as usually happens, it went away on its own, leaving only a slight head tilt in its wake.

Glad yours recovered and had no real holdover effects. I'm hoping for the same; the bloodwork and other tests came back fine so the signs are good for now.

I had a dog that would throw up every morning. There was a possibility it was a stomach issue, but cancer was more likely. It was cancer. She was useless on Christmas. I fed her a tiny piece of the roast beef from dinner. She was put down the next day.

Damn, sorry to hear that. We lost one about two years ago and don't want to go through that again at least for a while more.

Just been going through all the posts/photos again. This thread needs a weekly bump just as a reminder of how great the world is.

This is my old beagle. She was easily my favorite dog, even though I had to put her down less than a year after adopting her and her brother. She and I just had a special bond.
