Stoppage time has gotten out of control period -- I think every game I've seen the end of has had at least nine except for USA-Netherlands which was five.

 

Rugby did away with injury time. They stop the clock when there is a stoppage, and the horn/hooter sounds at 80 minutes. Nothing was lost in the process.

 

If you want to get a Brit going, make the argument that the clock should stop every time the ball goes out of play or there is a whistle.

 

Or there should be TV timeouts.

China v. Haiti is another mess. Early red card for China, they get a PK in the second half and then an absolutely horrific no call on a second penalty in favor of China. And now a stoppage time PK for Haiti is overruled by VAR.
