You know, I read the lyrics, and I was like -- ugh, typical jingoistic right-wing screech machine shit, let's move on. But the video throws just about every dog whistle out there possible. I would like that three minutes back, please.

Not a song, but a great story on Gram Parsons from Harvard Magazine. He (and Tommy Lee Jones) were members of the Class of 1969, even though Parsons dropped out after a semester.

Ray Bonneville stopped by a little bar in Fort Atkinson, Wis., a while back. I thought he was pretty good.

 

Tommy Lee Jones had a kind of famous roommate at Harvard. He was also on the football team that beat Yale 29-29.

Heard a groovy new Paramore song yesterday on the road to Billsville.

 

I remember this song as being better in 1980 than it is now.

 

It’s fun when it comes on the radio. I find it’s not the same if I play it myself. ‍ I can’t explain it.

 

Manfred Mann dipped into the Boss's well one time too many but this song brings back memories.
