This guy sounds pleasant. I know a student who was a page, she said some of the Senators were great, some were jerks. She said Cory Booker was the best, tossed them candy from the Senate candy drawer during long debates. The Senators can come and go, the pages had to sit through all of it.

She also said she was one of the few pages there who didn't have a "connection" to the Senator who sponsored her - most of her fellow pages were kids of rich donors, political friends etc.

 

In interesting conundrum if you remove the pizza and tacos. Santos is probably the least offensive to me, it helps that he has the least amount of power. After that? McCarthy is the most reasonable, but also has the MOST power. And odds are, he'd be replaced by Scalise who is worse.

That last part depends on your definition of working. They have become good at creating reasons for taking revenge, or being motivated by reasons they would never say out loud. Some wanted revenge for a person of color becoming president. Some wanted revenge for the other party daring to nominate a woman for president. Some want revenge for dragging this country's mentality out of the 1950s. Many Trumpists want revenge for the other side stealing the 2020 election. Sure, any rational person knows that didn't happen, but they have convinced themselves it did. The alternative is to face the truth about Trump, which is something they can never admit to themselves.

I’m trying to figure out why DeSantis keeps wearing a vest around Iowa. I assume it’s his “common man” wardrobe. But it’s the middle of the summer. Most of the nation is baking. It’s weird to see anybody wearing a vest while wandering around in 90-degree weather.
