Few things in baseball wave the white flag quite like trading a reliable player to the Marlins.
I hope Buck Showalter survives this.

The really odd thing with Mikolas deciding to take two shots to drill Happ is that this wasn't your typical bad blood situation - Happ and Contreras are good friends, it was clearly an accident, and Happ hugged him and apologized on the field. You would think Mikolas would have (a) seen that and decided there was no reason to hit him, or at least (b) decided buzzing the tower on the first one was sufficient. "The Code" remains incomprehensible in many situations.

Either you buzz the tower or you hit the guy in the back. You don’t get to do both.

Chip Caray is a clown. Their color guy is worse.

I thought the announcers were doing some sort of parody.

What I remember about Japanese players originally were the baseballs were slightly different and the pitching style was different.

Come on, please don't give them a pass. It was the same stuff as Al Campanis and Jimmy the Greek but with color-blindness. Ohtani's Nippon league still uses the same baseball and same pitching style.

Yeah. I was implying it. People were whispering Japanese were crafty.

I think the ball thing was genuine, although I have never heard that it actually mattered.

Pitchers definitely came before hitters. For what reason, I don't know.
