I was watching an WSOP event and the winner had two masks and one of them was a heavy duty 3M mask. I assume he has an immunology issue, but it was odd to see.

Was a little congested last night and woke up today feeling like crap, so I took a home test. It's positive. I don't have a fever, but definitely feeling run down.

Has anybody here taken any of the treatments like Paxlovid? I'm just curious how people have fared taking it. I asked my doctor about it when I had COVID last year and she wasn't a fan, mostly because it can raise the patient's blood pressure.

I took the Paxlovid last year when I had covid. I'm 65 and at-risk for some respiratory co-morbidities. My BP was not a concern.

I tolerated the medicine well, and it mitigated every symptom. Kept me from tipping over into higher fever, and a much more serious cough.

    So it was great.

    Feel better, my friend.

I had a positive Covid test in May, 2022. I had a low grade fever and sore throat, generally felt like I had the flu. My brother (the retired doctor) said he would take Paxlovid if he had it. Got the scrip and next day all symptoms gone. I didn’t have any paxlovid side effects.

If they’ll let you wear a mask, take advantage of the ability to reduce the tells you are broadcasting. Not to mention all the cancer sticks lit up around the room.

Many thanks. I am waiting to hear back from my primary doctor. I'm 51 with some risk factors, but Paxlovid might mix badly with some medications I take, so I may just have to ride this out without it.

Went back and read the first 9-10 pages of this thread. Amazing how a lot of the predictions that were made came true (work-from-home, supply disruptions, etc). We were lucky that the economy bounced back strongly, which as we all know caused more supply/demand issues and inflation.

I posted here that I tested positive July 31 and asked about antivirals like Paxlovid. My doctor ended up recommending that I not take any of the antivirals because my symptoms were relatively mild. I missed a week of work, mostly because that is their policy. The cough is lingering, but I got through round two just fine. How have others who got COVID weathered it? I know it is still very bad in some cases, but it seems most are mild these days.

I finally got it back in Feb maybe? I felt like hammered shit for about three days, tested positive for 8 or 9 days, and fought upper respiratory symptoms for about two weeks.

I was never close to hospital sick but the first three days were rough.
