Dear gawd, that was the first time I'd seen that animated Rapinoe commercial, and, one hopes, the last.

 

How about Megan Rapinoe in this match? Vlatko has to do something to jump-start this.

Yes, Portugal wasn't going to roll over and play dead, but about all the Americans have done is pick up two yellow cards.

As much as the U.S. needs a result, they could well end up posting one.

 

I see the Netherlands is playing recklessly and with undignified undisciplined aggression. The result is a shameful score.

 

Tell you what ...

The result against Vietnam was underwhelming.
A pissed-off Lindsey Horan saved the Americans against the Dutch.
And Portugal just looked the U.S. in the eye for 90 minutes.

If there's a pilot light or a switch, the Americans need to find it.

 

I'm the young pup compared to the other posters here when it comes to this sport, but even I could see that was just awful. Uninspired.

 

Portugal outplays the US but we get the tie we desperately need.

The passing just didn’t seem to be there. Maybe they can regroup for the next game. Rose L. won’t be there after two yellow cards.

 

So instead of the next game being 10 pm ET Saturday as the group winner, it’s 5 am ET Sunday. And we make it to the quarter finals, instead of 9 pm ET on Aug 10th, it’s 3:30 am ET on the 11th.

 

My desire to see the underdog pull off a major upset outweighed my patriotic fervor there in the final 15 minutes or so.

Much like the broadcast crew, I didn't understand those wild shots the US took, which led to opportunities for Portugal, when they needed to be killing the clock.
