Why? Because you dislike Harris for some reason? If she succeeds Biden before 2024 (a very low probability), the Democratic Party will rally behind her. All Vice Presidents receive much public scorn because the job is ridiculous. But many VPs go on to become President and win elections all the same.

 

He has plenty of company in not liking Harris, who really hasn't done much to help her chances during her time as vice president. She would also bring out the folks who would vote against any woman or any person of color, and there are far more people like that in this country than we would like to admit.

 

Incumbency is a powerful asset. Harris would have it in this, I repeat, unlikely scenario. Not to mention that women and people of color are the most numerous voters within the Democratic coalition.
