Civil rights groups condemn 'Soul Fest' concerts at Georgia park with giant Confederate carving

 

This little video from deep in the hearta' is running the rounds.



A Black jailer gave inmates some cigs and he gets made an example of by a White sheriff. This will engorge a few little 5-inchers.

 

“What do you do when you’re branded, and you fight for your name”. Showing my extreme age here, but that true clip shown reminded me of the TV show BRANDED. That (true) sheriff sure used overkill for effect. The only thing missing was background music.

 

A little late to react to this but Frank was most likely actually innocent of the murder. The trial where he was "convicted" was a circus that was much more about him being a Jew in the Deep South than it was about seeking justice. The state of Georgia posthumously pardoned him about 20 years ago. While that was specifically in response to the injustice of the lynching -- as opposed to an official exoneration -- Frank's trial and conviction was a perversion of due process.
