I've got the over for Oppenheimer on Oscar awards. Just brilliant.

Really nice synopsis. Saw it in IMAX last night and the Trinity test was awesome.

So many views of the consequences examined in a compelling way.

    SPOILER

Read someone on Twitter who compared his regret at the apple poisoning and him rushing over to correct it to him asking Groves if he could go to Washington as they're loading the bombs on the trucks, as if he could make one last-ditch appeal and take back what he'd done. Might be reading too much into it but thought it was interesting. And agreed on the final hour, some of the finest moments come there, from Downey, to Blunt in the hearing to finally getting to hear him and Albert by the water.

    Saw Oppenheimer. What a light-hearted, feel-good romp!

Seriously, what a tremendous film. Gotta think it will win all of the awards. Tremendous performances all around.

About 45 minutes in, my complaint was going to be the score. It was good but seemed so aggressive and perhaps used too much to create tension in a dialogue heavy movie. But then I got it. When it was quiet. The use of quiet in key moments was masterful.

Oppenheimer: worthy of the hype. RDJ is excellent. Also cool to see 80s stalwarts like Matthew Modine and James Remar on board.

    Clifford.

Tom Scharpling of The Best Show raved about it. He even bought the red suit Martin Short wore.

Martin Short, Charles Grodin, Mary Steenburgen, Dabney Coleman*, and a few of that guys.

"If you touch that dinosaur, I'm going to kill you."

    "Frisbee."

*If anybody knows where I can find the comedy series Buffalo Bill, I would be grateful.

[Edit] plus a sweet 1969 Mercedes Benz convertible.

The Beanie Bubble on Apple. Pretty good. Not as good as other similar ventures (the docu-movie) like the Tetris movie not too long ago. But pretty fun watch.

Also, Elizabeth Banks is a longtime crush of mine so I'll usually watch whatever she's in.

Binging the Criterion Channel app while recovering from surgery revealed one thing:

“8 1/2” on oxy is wild.

Had never seen Michael Mann’s “Thief.” Wow. That he left it simmer the whole way and never boil over is incredible. James Caan, a Tangerine Dream soundtrack and 1980 Chicago. What a movie.
