As you're doubtless aware, I was joking. The truth is, the NFL has never much cared about its institutional memory. so we get these awkward attempts at decades-late make-up calls

    The final 12 Seniors Committee from which they likely pick three;

    Ken Anderson
    Maxie Baughan
    Roger Craig
    Randy Gradishar
    Joe Jacoby
    Albert Lewis
    Steve McMichael
    Eddie Meador
    Art Powell
    Sterling Sharpe
    Otis Taylor
    Al Wistert

The final 12 Coach/Contributors from which they pick one:

    Tom Coughlin
    Mike Holmgren
    Frank “Bucko” Kilroy
    Robert Kraft
    Buddy Parker
    Dan Reeves
    Art Rooney Jr.
    Marty Schottenheimer
    Mike Shanahan
    Clark Shaughnessy
    Lloyd Wells
    John Wooten

New to final 12 this year:

    Craig
    Jacoby
    Lewis
    McMichael
    Powell
    Taylor
    Wisert

    Guys dropped from last year:

    Cecil Isbell
    Bob Kuechenberg
    Tommy Nobis
    Everson Walls

If I'm Craig and Jacoby I feel very good about my chances.

    Contributor / Coach newcomers are

    Coughlin
    Schottenheimer
    Wells

Roone Arledge and Art Modell were dropped and Coryell went in

I'd wager Coughlin or Kraft are the pick this year.

He should have gone in as part of the Centennial Class. There's no way they put in a dead contributor two years in a row. Coughlin turns 77 the end of next month. Kraft just turned 82.

If it's not one of those two, it'll be from Holmgren, Shanahan, Rooney Jr. and Wooten

No chance the coach/contributor is anyone other than Kraft, who has his hands in everything. They'll ensure an owner is taken care of before a coach.

I almost think Kraft didn't go in on the first year of eligibility because he already had a villa on the Mediterranian booked through August.
Or - maybe it was the massage parlor thing.

Coughlin took an expansion team to the AFC championship game in its second year, then won two Super Bowls with the Jints. But he won’t get in this time, due to a lifetime well spent in being a world-class prick.

A old white guy getting a handie from a sex worker? If anything, that would get him retroactively inducted.

    You get to live

As always with these committees, you can make the case for just about all the finalists. He is very deserving. I am surprised they went with two posthumous selections in a row considering the ages of the others.

It's ridiculous that Shanahan is still out.
