I know the FTR guys are all about repping for the great Southern wrestlers, but maybe Cash has been spending too much time around Arn? arn-anderson-aew-glock-promo-cody-rhodes-big-shotty-lee-johnson-nightmare-family.jpg

In less felonious news, there are some rumblings that tonight could not only be Edge's 25th anniversary match, but also the last match of his current WWE contract, and perhaps ever. Beth and their girls are in Toronto (and the kids haven't usually gone on the "work trips" with mom and dad).

WWE worked out a "swap" for Christian to make a cameo appearance in TNA in exchange for Flair to get be inducted with the Horsemen however many years ago, when Flair was still with TNA.

I seriously doubt an AEW one-off would happen these days, but I can imagine the reaction in Toronto if Christian's old WWE music starts playing tonight as part of a final swan song for Edge. I mean, AEW did let Jericho and Bryan record messages for Cena's anniversary.

Only I can’t figure is Edge’s retirement match is gonna be against…… Sheamus? Really? No disrespect to the Fella but I don’t see it

Yeah, it seems like they’re more setting up an angle for Sheamus to turn heel. Edge wins in his hometown (No Vince around) on his Edgeiversary. Sheamus congratulates him, then clobbers him. The Brutes join in, and then they’re heels.

Edge stays out a while selling the beat down, then gets a new contract and shows up back at the Rumble.

Since his comeback at the 2020 Rumble, Edge has already cycled through most of the other big names that might warrant a retirement storyline. I say there's nothing wrong if Edge just wants to keep it simple and do it in his hometown, against one of his close buds in the business (this side of Christian and the other TLC guys).

Who knows, but the fact that Edge's kids are there, and they're all wearing shirts with Edge and his late mom on them makes me think there's more finality to tonight. I'm just pissed that SmackDown will be pre-empted for the second straight week around here by preseason NFL.

I think I read that he credits Sheamus with helping him a lot during his comeback and that the two are pretty tight.

So are Edge and FTR -- but I think they're a bit preoccupied today.

    That look on Beth's face...

A straight victory for Edge, no shenanigans. Short of taking off the boots, that seemed like as much of a farewell as I could believe.

Whatever that shit was, it was embarrassing. Crowd was dead, even the commentators seemed like they couldn't get into it.

AEW got $100,000 for promoting that video game - which it promptly gave to Maui wildfire relief efforts. Embarrassing, but worth it.

Damn, the reactions Sami and KO get anywhere around Quebec. Unreal.
