I would love to know who watches pregame shows and why. Pointless drivel. I'd rather sleep in or do just about anything else until kickoff.

Postgame shows are occasionally OK. The Amazon one last year was usually excellent.

Pregame shows made sense before the NFL was a 24/7 365 league. Now, they add nothing. Just a bunch of gigglefests with 12-person panels.

That's true. I loved The NFL Today and the NFL (insert year here) pregame shows back in the day. Can't remember the last time I watched part of one, even by accident.

But they were an hour, max, and generally stuck to the games their network was covering. Then the WWL went to two hours, because they could. Now I think there's three hours of pregame for Monday Night Football. Too much ... but it's selling, apparently.

There are two sports studio shows in the entire country that are worth a damn. The NBA TNT show, and Good Morning Football. I swear the main reason is they don't take themselves too seriously, and when they laugh, its organic. Not like the CBS and Fox NFL chuckleheads.
This is great. And Jamie Erdhal and Jason McCourty have been better than the people they replaced (Kay Adams and Nate Burleson, both who weren't bad).

As I recall NFL Countdown started as a one-hour show at 11 and got off the air to make way for the network pregame shows. Anyone else remember that?

I remember around 1993 or so CNN had a show (I think it was an hour) that started around 10. Ron Meyer was the analyst and I think Vince Cellini was the host.
