The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is pretty fun, even if you are not obsessed with Nic Cage movies.

The Pope's Exorcist was ludicrous but mildly entertaining. Russell Crowe was strong and the voice of the demon is played by "Finchy" from the Office (UK). Best part: Faith No More on the soundtrack.

One interesting thing about so many movies going straight to streaming services is how some of them get no hype at all. This one has been on Netflix for almost two weeks and I hadn't heard of it until I stumbled onto the trailer. Despite the opportunity to watch Gal Gadot for two hours, but I saw that Greg Rucka wrote the screenplay, so I'll give it a shot. Rucka is a comic book writer and novelist. He also wrote the screenplay for The Old Guard, which was based on his comic book mini-series.

That is advertised on about every commercial break on MLB.tv. Looks like complete trash. Did not know Rucka was behind it, tho.

"Beast" - the absolute worst movie I've likely ever seen. We wanted a mindless movie on Sat night and it had Elba and was free. Jeez, it made The Meg 2 look like a fine movie. DO NOT PARTAKE!!

Saw Oppenheimer at a matinee today. I enjoyed the film a lot but have two negative comments that lead me to suggest that anyone who has not seen it yet wait until it is available on one of the streaming services:

    1. You need to adjust the volume a lot. Sometimes the background audio is loud enough to make the dialog difficult to understand.

    2. If you are like me and cannot go three hours without a visit to the men's room, the pause button on your home TV is your friend.

We saw the film in an IMAX theater; that choice is highly recommended.

    Blue Beetle tonight.

You’ll enjoy it more if you’re knowledgeable about Latino culture.

Still becomes one big, long fight the second half. Kinda meh overall.

Classic film. Famed for its screenplay, but for me the amazing cast does it. Higgins from Magnum! Paulie from Rocky! James Hong from one million things!

Boiling Point, a recent British film set in a restaurant--filmed in a single take. The versatile Stephen Graham (Snatch, Gangs of New York, Boardwalk Empire) is the lead and the female cop from Sherlock is the female lead. Snatch co-star Jason Flemyng also has a prominent role.

    Well-done and intense.
