Awesome. An Alito majority opinion well paid-for.

While Alito's opinion is proooooooooobably right, the fact that it comes from him renders it less than credible. Throw in the fact that we have judges making data decisions over scientists and doctors, that's a hard no for me.
If a judge rules they don't have the authority to regulate something, maybe OK. When a judge thinks they know more than experts, nope.

It's a pretty dry recitation of the facts of the case. There's one paragraph of opinion in there and it's at the end.
I'm sorry I didn't find a link from Axios or Slate that was more to your liking. For future reference, what sites do you find acceptable so that I can satisfy the requirements?

The judges — of all stripes — aren't necessarily ruling on the data decisions, they're ruling on how the data decisions will affect everyone and how they jibe with our laws. In this case, that's what they were ruling on, was how far the EPA had overstepped its authority. This was the case that got to the Supreme Court, but there have been a number of other examples just like it.

"Chevron deference" is already on the SCOTUS docket for 2024. Basically it means SCOTUS can scotch any agency regulation on a political whim even though the agency has expert knowledge of the matter.

The Alito wing of the Supreme Court is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Leonard Leo, the Federalist Society and Opus Dei. I'm not going to respect any decision that originates from that motley crew. Historians are going to write volumes on how fucking corrupt this court was.

Plenty of opinion in that headline.

Also throughout, in the use of words like "commonsense." [sic]

The trouble here and in understanding the challenges facing EPA and clean water is that water moves.

It seeps, it percolates, it flows, it evaporates - and whatever we pollute it with does too.

Unless we're going to fly electric airplanes, all this is just a hamster running in its wheel.

The goalposts are moving. First it was solar panel cost. Then it was batteries in cars. Now we’re to the “none of it matters because airplanes.”

It’s like reading press releases from an oil company.
