    I was texting with a buddy this morning - a guy who is a HUGE Buffett fan - and we were swapping memories. He then texted me a picture I had never seen before. It was from a JB show my wife and I attended with my buddy and a few other folks, and, outside of our wedding photos, it's the first picture of me and my wife together. That brought tears to my eyes, remembering how fun that night was and the smitten look on my face as I'm looking at my wife.

    This story is much more hilarious as told by my buddy who was watching, but it's good.
    I was at a concert at Starwood Amphitheater in Nashville extremely trashed and dancing on the lawn. Another guy and I bump into each other and start looking each other up and down.
    My buddy thinks we are squaring up to fight, but in reality we are looking at each other and realize we are wearing similar flowered shirts.
    I said, "Want to trade?" The guy agreed, and we did.
    The difference was mine was a $5 rayon shirt from Walmart, and his was a $55 silk Tommy Bahama shirt.
    When I made my way back to my group, I proudly tugged at the collar and said, "I traded up!"

    A casual fan, but definitely happy I saw him perform live.

    It was decades ago, but extremely memorable. It was so, so much fun.

    And that, to me, was the whole thing with Jimmy. Relax and have fun.

    Always thought this was a fun little throwaway:

    I was going to post the Tennessean’s article about Jimmy’s influence on country music, but the copy editing is lacking there.

    Tennessean = Nashville.
    One of the great stories is Jimmy getting his ass kicked by Buford Pusser in a motel parking lot in Nashville. I've stayed in that motel.
    One of the people I hold dearest in this world dated Buford Pusser's daughter when they were in high school.
    That's my 3 or 4 degrees of separation from Buffett.
