Off and running with the imminent firing of Midnight Mel. Nobody on the current Sparty staff is serious HC timber on anything other than an interim basis.

I suppose McElwain at CMU would probably throw his hat in the ring. He's 61 and Sparty would probably prefer somebody younger, but they may not have a lot of options.

Narduzzi was supposedly the heir apparent during the Dantonio era, I dunno if he'd take it now.

No, I don't think Deion would be interested. He'll have better offers.

On the walk from the shuttle bus terminal to my car last night, I walked past the brand new luxury hotel Saban has an ownership stake in and pondered the thought that it probably would be more fun running that (and the Mercedes dealerships up the road) than recalibrating how to reach kids in the locker room in the NIL/free transfer era. The paradox of course is that it probably gets way harder to fill those rooms at top dollar on game weekends if some other poor slob is burning the midnight oil back over on campus.

    Well, there's always Dabo Swinney...

Who is going to be the guy who follows the guy, Ray Perkins 2.0?

Starting to get the feeling Tucker isn't the brightest lightbulb in the box.

Haller might need to pack a bag too. It's been made very very clear since 2021 that Tucker was his personal buddy.

Haller was not officially affiliated with the athletic department during the process in which Tucker was hired, but he was a part of the search committee and strongly supported the hire. And, he was on board for the mega extension.

If MSU actually had a real president right now, I suspect Haller would be shitcanned already, but Woodruff doesn't have that power so they're probably hoping he can just brazen it out.
