I know I am naive but I could see Welker and the MTP staff thinking that the best way to make a first week splash is to go in hard on Cheeto Jesus.

 

It's good for ratings and I imagine it'll establish Welker as someone who'll "take on Trump."

The truth is the media can't quit him. Neither can his critics. Repeating the obvious about him for the 900th time still gets eyeballs and a dopamine hit.

 

I wish the media would quit reporting on the person the GOP is about to nominate for President.
