I guarantee you that if Biden was 60, there'd be stories about Democrats worried about something else about the guy. Democrats worry and fret. It's what they do, and they're damn good at it.

 

Better at fretting than actual politics, unfortunately.

 

It was not “obstructing an official proceeding,” as Republicans said.

 

If the fire alarm guy did it intentionally and it was to delay a vote, hell yes, prosecute him and I'd be OK with him getting tossed out of the House.

Not sure WHY he would want to delay a vote. Doesn't make a ton of sense. The story being put out now is that he might just be an idiot. As you'd expect, certain doors that are open during the week are locked on the weekend. Apparently, paraphrasing of course, he wanted to get through a locked door (that has fire release bars on it) and he thought pulling the alarm would unlock the door and not sound a full building alarm.

That seems a bit convenient and I'm not sure I really buy it. Even if his intent wasn't nefarious, there's gotta be consequences. You can't just pull a fire alarm, idiot or not.

 

He won't get expelled. He won't get prosecuted (moronic as he was, this act, believe it or not, is covered under the Speech and Debate Clause of the Constitution). He'll get censured, which he deserves. Next year, perhaps his constituents will bounce him, as he deserves for being so fucking dumb. In the vote he was trying to delay, all but one Democrat voted aye. He was not the lone objector.

 

Dems should just say “we’ll bounce Bowman and you bounce Santos. Deal?”
