The Hobbs thing was awkward AF. They go into the crowd a few minutes. They go back to the ring. They can’t get the tape to stick. Just sloppy producing.

As for the chair shot, it was a gimmicked chair. Watching the replay, Callis didn’t hit him that hard. But the chair was dented like crazy.

I think this dispels any thought of Cole's injury being a work. I'll eat my words, but he keeps things the "business" pretty separate from his Twitch content. That's not to say he can't be the figurehead of the posse that attacked Jay White, but I don't think we'll see him in action for another long time.

Obviously, I wasn't there to see what happened, and yes, he jumps from similar heights from top ropes all the time, but my unscientific diagnosis is that when he ran down that platform at Grand Slam, he paused and had second thoughts on if he would go around the outside of the ring or straight into it. That quick decision caused him to not brace his fall correctly and twist his ankle when he landed on the outside mats. And there could've also been some condensation on the mats from it being outdoors.

I think the adrenaline and "what's best for business" is what took him through the rest of that segment, until the cameras went off.

Also, who puts off the first of two surgeries to keep doing skits? Dak Prescott shattered his ankle and had surgery that night. Coke shatters his and two weeks later hasn’t had one yet? Work!

 

Lord, if Cena, Asuka, Heyman AND Cody wasn't enough, now the rumor mill is swirling that UNDERTAKER might appear on NXT since he'll be at the PC working with the kids.

Oh yeah, and some guy named CM might be at Survivor Series next month.

 

Wow. They just rang the gong at the end of an NXT promo during SmackDown. They really are going to have Taker on.

By this stretch, I really won't be surprised if they trot out Dwayne to accompany Ava.
