GOP Rep. Thomas Massie is as right wing as they make 'em. He's already posted on social media there's no way he'd vote for Trump for Speaker. If the MAGAs ever thought, they'd quickly realize Speaker Trump would suck up every bit of what they live off of -- attention. And he'd turn on any Rep. no matter how loyal if they got some of the attention he feels was his -- any.

If Fatfuck is made Speaker it becomes obvious what they plan to do.
So it becomes obvious what must be done.

This is bringing back good memories. The only TV in our dorm that had cable was the lounge on the 13th floor. So my first semester, I went up there every Sunday morning to watch The Sports Reporters. Remarkably, that was not a semester in which I ever had to worry about leaving a girl in my bed at 9:30 AM. :D

Freshman year: Boreman North, third floor. Fall, 1994.

Moved in during the hottest week of the year and did not have air conditioning, but were permitted to bring a window unit (which I did not do).

Community bathroom 3for 32 dudes and a TV lounge with console television with cable. No cable hookup in the dorm rooms. You could MAYBE get a couple of local stations with rabbit ears.

Barracks-style rooms with two twin beds that could be bunked.

The heat was steam boiler that was so intense you had to leave a window cracked to get any kind of normal temperature.

That sounds like my dorm and my priorities. As long as I was in the heart of campus and had A/C, I was fine. The main issue I had was my last year in the dorm. They finally decided to wire the place for cable, which sucked because the workers woke everybody up with the banging at 7 a.m. and it wasn't going to be done in time for me to use it.

This reminds me that it was a big deal to learn my school let both sexes live on the same floor. Men at one end, women at the other, Coincidentally, this was when I began wearing shorts to bed. :D

God, her name is "Marks." Sometimes I am really impressed with the creativity of who writes the GOP stuff.

The Packers did lose last week.

The whole 'lazy river' thing is an extreme example, but let's not pretend that there isn't a market at work here, both in terms of education and amenities. That's part of what feeds the whole college athletics industrial complex so many of us have benefited from fourth-hand.

    So this happened.

Is he going to UO too?

I'd hope in the 50+ years since I was a freshman dorm rooms are nicer than the cinderblock walls of good old Wood Hall at Three Chopt Tech, which was not air-conditioned. Wonderful in Virginia in late August, September and April.

"Lavish" dorms. In 2016-17 my son and two friends shared a 100-square foot economy triple in Cauthorn Hall at Microville Tech. They easily survived but it was hardly luxurious. Who wants their kids living in a hovel, eating the same crap I ate?

Iny my state, OSU/UO cost what they do because the state has reduced the percentage of its appropriations by about 2/3 in the past 30 years because of Measure 5, meaning tuition and fees have to cover the gap. And this year we have a $5 billion budget surplus that can't be put in a rainy-day fund or education endowment or something intelligent because of the stupid kicker law.
