An Oakland A is my best guess. Thinking a team with a run after divisions were in place and a pitcher who was good for a few years. Lot of games and chances for relievers, but not too many

So maybe Darold Knowles? I recall him having a good run for the A’s

The ‘72 Dolphins were the first NFL team to have two 1,000-yard rushers (Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris). The ‘76 Steelers were the second team with two 1,000-yard rushers (Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier).

But this other team came within 15 yards of being the second team with two 1,000-yard rushers … and neither guy got to 1,000. Who was the team and who were the two rushers?

Didn't he give up a famous walk off hit?

I wanted to get this answered before I checked out for the night.

It's Joe Niekro, 0.00 ERA in 20 innings over three playoff series: 1980 NLCS and 1981 NLDS with the Astros, and 1991 WS with the Twins. He pitched 10 shutout innings vs. the Phillies in 1980 and eight against the Dodgers in 1981, but didn't get a decision in both games the Astros eventually lost.

He also hit the only home run of his career off his brother.

I looked up Knowles after I guessed. He’s at 0.00 but it was in just 6 2/3 innings. He pitched in all seven games of the 1973 World Series without giving up an earned run in 6 1/3 innings. He had another 1/3 scoreless inning in 1971 ALCS.

We are both hall of famers: we retired the same year and were inducted the same year.

I was a pitcher and I struck him out the most of any pitcher he faced.

Yeah but I got the most hits of any batter he faced.

True, but none of his 300-plus homers were against me!

    Who are we?
