Actually, the Texas Tech game was in Laramie.

Don't forget that there's G5 midweek action this week.

    Tuesday
    Louisiana Tech at Middle Tennessee
Liberty at Jacksonville State in a game that will probably decide the CUSA title
Coastal Carolina at Appalachian State in what has been an entertaining series dating back to their FCS days

    Wednesday
    UTEP at FIU
Sam Houston at New Mexico State
(OK, both of those games are shite)

They will ultimately pay for their substandard defense.
And they may have gotten off the hook in a big way against Arizona, which declined the opportunity to play for the win in the first OT. If you're on the road, playing against the most recent Heisman winner/presumptive No. 1 pick in the 2024 draft and generally less talented than the opponent, don't you have to go for the win ASAP? You're 2.5 yards from victory. How confident can you be that you'll be that close again?

Agreed. The way the overtime rules are now, especially, it was always going to be their best chance to convert one play for the win. From that point on they were always going to have to make a defensive stop in addition to scoring. Win or lose, I think teams in that situation should probably go for it 100 percent of the time while they still have a measure of control.

They could not care less about the TV schedule. They care greatly about the tailgate/drinking schedule.

Big Ten fans are going to have to get accustomed to noon. If, that is, they want their teams to be relevant.

This dumb Bammer isn’t looking forward to an 11 am kick against the Hogs (7 am Homecoming parade anybody?) but I understand that we and every other football school of note spread our legs for King Television long ago.

I said it at 1:30-something central time last Saturday Night/Sunday Morning. Zona had to go for 2 there.

Indeed. And a primetime game on big CBS……which still befuddles me to this hour.

They'll give it plenty of lip service. But their tailgate/drinking schedule will rule their day.
