Sounds like Mike Hass, the Oregon State walkon from Beaverton. No D1 offers, walked on and then had 3,924 receiving yards in three years and won the 2005 Biletnikoff.

Looked as if the stadium at Houston was only half-filled.

That WV-Houston ending makes me wonder why teams don't sub out their regular lineman with linebacker and safety types and throw a screen instead of chucking it deep for a hail mary. Imagine being a DB camped out at the goalline and seeing a bunch of dudes bigger than you heading your way at top speed blocking for the receiver - a bit more terrifying than just going up and tipping the ball away.

When ESPN/Fox Sports wants games on Tues/Wed/Thurs nights and your league has bargained for all that TV money, you play on Thursday night. If that means fewer butts in seats, see aforementioned TV money.

Tulane can't get out of that conference soon enough.

To where? To the ACC when Clemson and FSU bail?

Anyone notice New Mexico State is 2-1 in the CUSA and looking like a lock for a bowl? Another amazing job by Jerry Kill. The school hasn't had two straight winning seasons since '67 and '68. Really one of those coaches like Rocky Long that has done amazing work far from the bright lights of the sport.

Everybody in the Pac 12 was excited with the deal Larry Scott put together - the conference would be on Fox Sports AND ESPN! And then be ticked off that instead of having one night game aired nationally on FS1 - the conference would canabalize its ratings by having two or three games going on at the same time after 7 p.m. local time. Attendance plummeted, the conference ratings lagged which ultimately justified the low offers from the networks that killed the conference.

I remain skeptical that the exodus is imminent. Post and Courier had a story suggesting something was going to be announced soon, but it didn't explain how that would happen.
But if Clemson and FSU do bolt, replacing them with Tulane would be worse than letting the spots sit vacant.
