If the flips were going to happen, they would’ve happened by now. Best short-term move is to get these R guys who are going to get pounded in next year’s primaries some positions in agencies. The seats won’t be filled immediately and Jeffries, at least for now, gets the gavel.

Any GOPer in a Biden district who votes for Jordan might as well pack their bags for home immediately. There aren't ton of them, but it only takes a few to flip the House back. And they would be absolutely cooked if they vote for that jackass.

 

He's barely ahead of where he was two (3?) days ago when he lost behind closed doors to Scalise.

He's 65 votes short of 217.

 

I did not know so I looked him up in Wikipedia. THis jumped out at me.

I do not think any Republican who took a stand against the confederate flag can win enough votes to be speaker.
