"Bodies, Bodies, Bodies" is pretty good. A satirical, murder mystery with a strong cast of mostly younger actresses (including the great Rachel Sennott). Takes place mostly in a house with no power during a storm, so the film is just lit mainly with characters cell phones, so cool look too.

Saw, or rather saw again Stop Making Sense yesterday. I know Talking Heads are not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm a fan, and besides that, for my money Johnathan Demme directed the best rock concert film ever. No stoned musicians babbling about music. No even more stoned fans talking about the meaning of it all in their lives. Just musicians playing music. A great band playing great music in this case.

"House" or "Hausu" from Japan. Made in 1977. A trip to end all trips.

Stephen King's "A Good Marriage" on Amazon Prime. I'm still not sure what I think about it.

I’m assuming someone I’m ignoring started the RIP Piper Laurie thread?

"Unhinged" with a very big and very menacing Russell Crowe. Opens with him bludgeoning a family to death with a big ball peen hammer and gets more violent from there. Two stars out of four.

"Jungle" with the Harry Potter dude. Apparently a true story about a guy trying to survive 17 days alone in the Bolivian jungle after his four-person party broke up. Potter was positively skeletal by the end of the movie.

It could have been 20-30 minutes shorter.

That should be included in every review of a movie made in the last 5 years.

Godfather and Godfather II are long as hell. I have no idea how long GF III is because it doesn't exist.

Really enjoyed Killers of the Flower Moon. 3.5 hours but didn't feel too excessive (though I am someone who doesn't care that every movie really does take goddamn forever now; I like getting my money's worth). If you've read Grann's book it's also fascinating to see how the movie approaches the story in a different direction. Can see an Oscar for Lily Gladstone, and it's honestly one of De Niro's best performances in a long, long time.
