The saying "Something so stupid only an intellectual would believe it" didn't emerge in a vacuum.

One little ticking time bomb here: Mel Tucker's only chance to recover anything -- any amount between 10 cents and 80 million dollars -- in his upcoming contract suit against Michigan State University will be if Tucker (ie his lawyers) can prove that someone affiliated with MSU administration conspired with Brenda Tracy to induce Tucker to breach his contract.
According to public statements by AD Haller, even his office did not know the actual charges against Tucker until the whole mess went public last month. In that case, the only people who would have known the nature of the charges would have been:
-- the office of Title IX compliance,
-- the temporary acting interim president Woodruff
-- and the chairperson of thr Board of Trustees, Vassar.

This probably also explains the wording of the press release from the Board of Trustees yesterday, written in the first person singular.

And also provides a logical explanation for the sudden eruption of the frankly bullshit nothingburger alleged Harbaugh violation, the completeiy bizarto world threat not to play the game Saturday (a threat which could only have been made by a couple people) and even possibly the Hitler video clip: if you were involved with something which could escalate into an $80 million shitbomb, wouldn't you want the world at large focusing on cellphone videos and Hitler memes?

Sounds about like how Tennessee hired Derek Dooley.

Anyone who ever complains about a 10-2 season is a loudmouth asshole.

The fan base at my school now expects the BCS title game every year.
This is bullshit. I love titles, too. But 10-2 is a fine season, and 9-3 ain't shabby, either.

I like college football. College football is fun.
Have some fun with college football, you loudmouth assholes.

Back to the Michigan scouting nothingburger story:

    -- Michigan is guilty
-- Michigan runs an average of 60 offensive plays per game.
-- Require Michigan to supply its opponents, the B1G, the NCAA and the media a complete ready list of 30 plays (with play diagrams) it intends to run in upcoming games. (Duplicate plays allowed). All verbal and visual signals must also be supplied.
-- Have a panel of 3 experienced coaches/scouts/analysts/ in the pressbox during the game with the ready lists. Any time Michigan runs a play not on the ready list, the pressbox scouts will buzz the crew chief, who will assess a five yard dead-ball penalty. No discussions or debates of these calls will be allowed -- none.
-- After Michigan has run 30 offensive plays, they can run whatever plays they want.
-- Repeat this procedure the rest of the season.

-- Next week, revoke the idiotic anti-scouting rule.

EDIT: Updated with corrected play numbers

Slight problem with your math -- Michigan runs nowhere near that amount of plays. They are averaging 61 per game. Against Bowling Green they only ran 44. I think their season high is low 70s

Hmmm. I was on another board and they were ranting about the new clock rules and they claimed that Michigan had gone from running an average of 99 plays per game last year to 91 this year, a figure they claimed was in the bottom 10 in FBS. (Somebody was arguing Harbaugh's staff takes an inordinate amount of time to get plays in.) I suppose they got their data from www.outtamyassstats.com.
At any rate, however many plays Michigan has been running, set the cutoff point at half that. So if they're averaging 61, set the cutoff point at 30.

I don't disagree. But I know at least one fan base which will never be satisfied with 10-2, the way it goes down annually.
