Tulane"s commitment produced a top 10 ranking. That's twice in 25 years which, as someone here pointed out, so many D1 schools would trade for in a heartbeat.

They've chopped it down to 47,000, which is still probably about 20,000 seats too many.

It's a brand-new stadium, on the same site, right? Like Stanford did?

According to Wiki, they just demolished one of the end zones.
Makes sense. They weren't using the end zone anyway.

Those Cal-SMU and Stanford-SMU affairs will be yearly reminders of those classic Niners-Cowboys playoff games. Only played as virtual Ultimate Frisbee with 3D glasses.

Georgia Tech is the only real ACC team with no annual rival. (University-6 doesn’t have one, either, but they don’t count.)

Yes, Stanford-SMU renewing a rivalry that dates to 1936. They've only played the one time in 1936, but, hey, 7 in a row coming up.

Can't help the snark but nothing screams ACC conference game like Cal at Syracuse or Boston College. Plus, only a 45-hour ride from Berkeley to Boston.

Apropos of nothing in particular, Michael Crichton and his brother wrote a book (as Michael Douglas) called "Dealing, or the Berkeley to Boston Forty Brick Lost Bag Blues". The protagonist was selling dope while he attended Harvard.
