Oh don't get me wrong, I'll rewatch it any time, any place. I have great memories of seeing it for the first time as well...it wasn't playing in our podunk town, so a bunch of us drove like an hour to see it and played Pearl Jam along the way while talking about how we were looking forward to seeing the band's cameo. During one of the band in the diner scenes, one of my best buddies, always a bit absent-minded, blurts out "Hey! That's the guy from Pearl Jam!"

Fast forward 30 years and I'm talking to him on the phone at Christmas last year from my Dad's house. He said one of his sons has COVID and then says to his wife "Hey, can we see BYH & his family?" Wife from the background: "(Son) has COVID!" Buddy: "Oh. Right."

As for Singles, it's sort of rote, but my goodness Bridget Fonda is beautiful in it. And I always wish I could have used the line "I was just nowhere near your house" on someone.

I’m definitely gonna watch it again. Maybe sooner than later after this thread.

The Xavier McDaniel was worth the price of admission, along with it being a good movie.

    One “Friends”-related story I love:

When Mets’ fan favorite Wilmer Flores was signed as a teenager and began in the minors, he was homesick for Venezuela and wanted to improve his English.

He credits the show with helping him feel better and part of his English improvement.

Flores used the theme song as his walk-up music. And think he still does with the Giants.

Dude should live in Queens when he retires. Everything would be comped.

The one miss on the Friends reunion was not having Wilmer Flores talking about that, especially since I believe they had other foreign-born fans talking about how they learned English by watching the show.

Geez, how could I forget that? Still surprised they got that into a PG-13 movie.

    A favorite "Singles" story...

Chris Cornell was hanging around the set and saw that they had a prop cassette demo tape for Citizen Dick. There was nothing on the tape, but it had five made-up song titles on it. He went home and wrote songs with those titles, then recorded demos of those songs.

One of them, "Seasons," ended up on the soundtrack. Another one was "Spoonman."

They released that five song demo type on vinyl a few years ago on Record Store Day, titled "Poncier," which was the last name of Matt Dillon's character.

Oh I used that line a couple times.

First movie I went out to see in college as well. October 1992. I lost my V 10 hours later on Saturday morning.
