Aniston is a much, much bigger star than Perry was. Probably Courtney Cox too.

    The rest? Not a chance.

    1) Aniston
    2) Perry
    3) Courtney Cox

    Then the rest.

Friends came on at the perfect time for Xers. Radio stations were catering to them (see: Nirvana). Advertisers were catering to them. They were right in the middle of that 18-34 demo.

And we're a self-absorbed bunch. I know we talk about Boomers being selfish, but we're stride for stride with them I think. Mostly because we grew up in it.

Except for the dinosaurs hanging around on Capitol Hill, we're running the show now.

As for first star of the generation who's departed us, that was Luke Perry.

Speaking of Bruce, minus Courteney, but with Jen, they played this cover to end the recent episode of The Morning Show.

Least surprising post ever, and I've only seen maybe 5 of yours. I guess I don't know what mindless comedy is. Yes, BBT is basically Friends with Nerds and rips off Friends in nearly every episode, the two are incredibly different. I think you need to be pretty well educated to not have a lot of jokes in BBT sail high. That's not the case with Friends.

Is Fawlty Towers 'mindless comedy'? Guilty as charged, of relishing the mindless in that case.

It's not Joey flexing in front of a mirror (cue laugh track), but it's there to coo in my ear when I need it.

Thank you, Sir Quant, for digging up my post history. Did I even eat breakfast today? I forget. Good luck asking me to recall specific details of SJ convos from 2008. Always happy to be called out on things. (Not sarcasm, I'll own up to saying something stupid.)

My test is to imagine watching without the laugh track.
How many true yuks would there be?
