Is it really a strawman? I've seen at least one poster here strongly imply it.

I'm not even criticizing the state. Just one man in charge of it (and whichever of his subordinates agree). Even that's a bridge too far for some (many?).

Agreed, but imagining Jose Madrigras bashing in the face of some soldiers who committed those atrocities does make me smile.

Does it? I'll cop to not following it that closely. Generally, though, when you see something structured like this ...

"... the widespread narrative that any criticism of Israel is inherently antisemitic"

... you got you some strawman-ing going on.

I may be wrong, but I think you mean to ask if I doubt that there are people who interpret any criticism of Israel as anti-Jew/anti-semitic, and the answer is ... of course not.

No, I used the word label intentionally. Sure, some people interpret any criticism of Israel as being anti-Jewish, but some people know better, but call it anti-Judiasm anyway.

I'm sorry, and not being a pill here, but your post was "do you doubt they people" and I wasn't exactly sure what you were asking.

Ah, I see your quibble is with "widespread." Fair enough.

    Not uncommon?

I see it. Pardon my mental flatulence.

I do wonder how the US would have responded if after a few days bombing Afghanistan, the rest of the world said - "OK, you made your point....now shut it down." And I do think people expect a hell of a lot more out of Israel than they do Hamas. It's almost like Hamas doesn't have any freewill, that they were put on this earth simply to destroy Israel and kill Jews and people think they shouldn't be held accountable. For their attacks, for hiding in civilian populations. I don't even think I've heard of anyone calling for Hamas to surrender or cede leadership of Palestine. Hamas needs to go. Period.
