Next time someone defends Hamas, show them the baby photos.

I think it's OK - even necessary and desirable - to deplore the killing of children, full stop.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/biden-team-send-blunt-warnings-234313400.html

Biden has told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the relentless images of Palestinian women and children being pulled from rubble could start to narrow Israel’s ability to move forward with its current operation, according to senior administration officials.

In conversations with Netanyahu, Biden has warned that Israel will be judged harshly by the international community if it doesn’t take steps to significantly ease humanitarian suffering and minimize Palestinian civilian deaths.

They are probably right to be concerned about Israel losing goodwill in the U.S. and internationally if the current path continues, but nothing has changed. If they stop, Hamas regroups and attacks again.

The leader of Hamas lives in Qatar? I did not know that until this morning. No wonder he’s still alive.

He's a titular leader. The real powers reside in Gaza, or used to (could be in safer venues now). But I suspect that power in Hamas will now flow dramatically towards whomever in Gaza survives the war.

One Hamas leader said something about being a nation of martyrs and that they were going to use martyrs, which seemed like saying the quiet part out loud.

So really, Israel is just helping them out, and shouldn't be condemned?

    Come on now.

The United States learned from 2001-2021ish that if you just kill enough terrorists, you can finally defeat terror.

Its a scary thought to think that leaders in the region see themselves as just carrying on the tradition(s) we've been reading about in the Bible, the Talmud and the Koran for centuries. As was ever thus, - never seemed to be any "cease fires" or sudden endings of hostilities in those books.
