I generally fart around on the computer or flip back and forth from SNL to a football game, but I watched that whole episode. It’s the best one I’ve seen in ages.

I thought that there were no misses and quite a number of really funny sketches. The Lake Beach song was really funny but I had to watch it twice because some of the lyrics were hard to make out.

You know it’s a good episode when Weekend Update is short and please don’t destroy ends up in the back half.

As someone who grew up in deep Missouri, I can testify that the Lake Beach video was a damn documentary. So spot-on.

The writing has been quite strong, the performances too. Typically the cast plows through the lines, nice to see a few pauses to let a joke land here and there. Don't know what the point of having Bad Bunny as a host was given the limitations - most of the stuff he did, would have been fine as a musical guest. I will say that that Washington sketch seemed like it might have been ripped off from a stand-up routine. Very similar to Gary Gulman's bit below.

We are big fans of Gulman and have seen him live at the NJPAC a few times. His new book, Misfit, is really good.

Don't know a thing about the musical act, but Jason Momoa could be a blast of a host. He may be a superhero/action guy on screen, but the kind of guy who likes to have fun judging by the bits he's done with Fallon.

I think he might be in peak "willing to fuck around" mode too, since the response to Fast X was like that to a wet fart, and all of the buzz on Waterman 2 has likewise been pretty bad. Unless he's (The) Rock-level dense, he knows he needs to show himself off a bit.
