    I have a question.

I grew up in the Northeast. Catholics, Jews, and mainstream Protestants. Nobody was proselytizing, but everyone knew what you were. There are political issues that have some religious influence, but it's not a big deal. Maybe unspoken, but never too overt.

I sense there are a lot of progressive Southerners with various Christian faiths. Or people who grew up in a religious environment and have moved off.

I didn't grow up in that environment, so I cannot imagine it. But is the aversion to the idea of religion in politics a reaction to the the culture you grew up in or the way people promote religion in politics in your region?

Because the way some people practice their faith is not an absolute argument against others making political choices based on their faith.

Equally good luck when an especially dangerous hurricane wipes out Palm Beach.
