Come on. That's not what I said or did. Not even close.

Secondly ... If "don't kill civilians" governed Israel's actions, it would have to let Hamas get away with it. Hamas ain't some little cadre of ultra-zealots; it's tens of thousands of people, deliberately intertwined with the civilian population. Putting civilians in harm's way is one of two things Hamas does.

This war has been going on since May 15, 1948.

If you think Israel backing down and choosing not to fight is going to end that, you haven't been paying attention. If you think Israel granting concessions to try to appease Hamas is going to work, you need your head examined.

This would be a good time to remind everyone here who is calling for a cease-fire that there was one in place on Oct. 6. Hamas broke it with a brutal terrorist attack that targeted civilians.

Yet still ... when the dust settles we're going to be in the exact same situation. So what's next?

So if that's how you see it ... why do you think Israel "should kill every member of Hamas it can put (its) hands on"?

I had breakfast earlier this week with a good friend who came up to NYC to do some business before he and his wife went to the pro-Israel rally in DC. His wife basically has spent her entire time for the past 5+ weeks posting on Facebook. I asked him how this ends and even, who says that he thinks about the Gaza attacks all of the time, says that there is no good solution.

For me, realistically, you are going to need a government in Gaza/the West Bank which supports a viable economy, recognizes Israel and agrees not to have the capacity to pose a military threat. That ain’t gonna happen.

How does Gaza develop its own economy under the conditions imposed on the people?

    There's 30,000 Hamas.

Israel's still in the bloodlust phase of this.

Good question. What should Israel do differently?
