Mike Joy, Jack Arute, Allen Bestwick, Dick Berggren, MRN’s Dave Moody, I’m sure I missed someone — all tied to Squier.

 

Las Vegas Grand Prix FP1 red flagged and ended because of what sounds like a manhole cover housing issue that wrecked Sainz’s car. What a disaster, considering the cost of the event.

I know we have one member in attendance. Feeling awful for him right now.

 

I was walking towards where I had tickets and everyone else was walking away. I thought I had screwed up and was going the wrong way. I asked someone what was going on and he mentioned the cancellation and then I heard about something in the road coming up. I thought F1 had some tests runs Wednesday night, but I can't find any mention of it in the news.

I then blew some money at blackjack and lost my wallet. A shitty night all around.

 

That was what everyone was expecting to happen at the NASCAR race in Chicago.

You figure they would’ve checked those manhole covers before cars were on the track. Gotta wonder if some of the locals unhappy about the whole thing perhaps tampered with stuff — which would be stupid, because one of those things could kill someone.

 

They started the second practice at 2:30, but kicked all the fans out before. And any possible view of the track, except from a hotel room, is blocked.

 

Absolutely hilarious that Ferrari gets hit for a 10-spot grid penalty thanks to the Sainz incident, which is in no way Ferrari’s fault.

This is going to be a clown show, at best.

 

Well, my machine does have a rally background, but I have a standard shifter with short throws. The clutch and flywheel might survive, but would I?

 

I'm not sure I'd survive a ride along in one of those rallies, let alone my driving.

 

Piastri’s parade car just squirted oil all over the track on the pit straight during the pre-race. Apparently it’s where Verstappen will be starting. I’ll take a clown show if it means Max is disadvantaged and we get a decent race.*
