Everything that's happened since the morning of October 7 strongly suggests Israeli intelligence has at the least been resting on its laurels for many years now.

It is hard to fathom why their satellites can't seem to pick up activity in all those tunnels we keep hearing about.

You don't need to see "in" the tunnels but certain any Hamasians who remove rocks and decoys to go INTO the tunnels.

I know next to nothing about these tunnels and their reach, but I would assume they extend rather a long ways so as to ensure that one can enter/exit them at a far remove.

And I’m guessing they can be accessed from inside buildings to prevent drones and satellites from seeing the entrances.

Random fact: purportedly the only place in the world that a boat can go under a train that goes under a road that goes under landing airplanes. Or something like that. Don't know if the complete routine has been captured on camera.

They've long said these things extend into Egypt. I don't know how feasible that is. No one questions the Egyptians on why they look the other way.

I should hope the road doesn’t go over planes in flight.

One thing I’ve never fully understood: the purpose of Israeli settlements on Palestinian land. You want to mark your territory, but you’re also putting settlement residents in harm’s way. It seems like a massive fuck you to anyone who advocates for peace.

First of all I think Hamas is a much, much more lethal version of John Brown and Israel has to defend itself just as John Brown needed to be executed.

But the policy of moving Palestinians on the West Bank into smaller and smaller areas and handing the land over for new settlements was a deliberate policy goal of the Israeli government.
