The cool part was that he reached out to my son to ask what to do. He knows my arb betting paid for two years of college for my son.

“You pay your January tuition yet?”

    “Nope.”

“Put $3400 to that. Leave $1000 in your account.”

    “Sounds good, Mr. Ex.”

Ex, you're no longer in a betting state, right?

    Now -135 ... but still nuts. 0.5!

If you're taking the over, you could probably juice that up to 2.5 and add a little more to the odds, right? Gotta figure that if they score, they're at least kicking a field goal.

Iowa is the only team to actually factor a safety into the total.

No longer in a betting state so now I'm just an advisor. That will likely change by summer (thanks, TV news biz!).

I have always enjoyed casino visits and after overcoming much anxiety and intrepidation, I have gotten into craps recently. Something about the thrill of the roll that doesn't exist with the other games.

It also interests me to watch others bet, trying to understand what they are doing and why. Not a big fan of those who bet the No Pass line.

I read through 50 pages of this thread and only saw sporatic mentions of craps. So. . . any dice throwers out there?

One of the most fun nights of my life was turning $40 into $400 playing craps at the MGM Grand. Something about the camaraderie among strangers when the table gets hot. And yeah, those dudes screaming “the dice are ice!” are a real buzzkill at a table.

I love the camaraderie of playing baccarat. It takes NO skill whatsoever. Just pick a side.

Blackjack with low stakes and no douchebags playing egregiously bad or complaining about people hitting is fun. There are crazy sequences when it seems everybody wins while splitting and doubling down with the dealer getting five cards before she busts.

Yes! I was the same way early in my gambling life, terrified of the craps table, but once I got into it ... yeah there's nothing like it. Some of the random stories:

-- On one buddies' trip to Biloxi there was a rookie at the other side of the table whose breasts were falling out with every crouch over the table, but she made us a fortune. I'm a huge believer in "virgin rollers" anyway and that was a bonus.
-- Was in Atlantic City with my sister once at like 3 a.m., just passing through. Got to a table where it was just us and a very mouthy guy at the other end, he was in the middle of a roll and jabbering and the pit boss said "you can finish this roll but then you're outta here." I whispered to my sister, "watch him go for a long time now" and he sure did.
-- On one holiday run to the Indiana riverboats me and two buddies were on a packed table with a guy who went for so long that they had to bring in more chips to pay people. That was a first for me. The pit boss also raised the table limits mid-roll, one of my buddies started to object and I said "are you fucking kidding? Shut up!"
-- My guys' favorite game was a 25-cent minimum at the Cal-Neva in Reno. Throw down $20 and you'd get a stack of "chocolate," could play and drink for hours with that. A long time ago.

    Love me some craps.

Come to the dark side. We have cookies.

What I like about don’t pass/don’t come bets (always back them with odds please) is that after a point has been established for each of your bets, they can all pay off at once but only get knocked down one at a time.
