I know Florida State lost its QB but I think the Seminoles should get a CFP spot if they beat Louisville. In 2014, Ohio State lost J.T. Barrett before the Big Ten title game and Cardale Jones stepped in and helped them to their most recent national championship.

    ESPN's Power Index rankings:
    1. Ohio State
    2. Michigan
    3. Oregon
    4. Penn State
    5. Georgia
    6. Alabama
    7. Texas
    8. Oklahoma
    9. FSU
    10. LSU

No, these are not a week old. Current.

If FSU beats University-6 by something resembling the 59-0 that Ohio State applied to Wisconsin in 2014, I'll join you.

God, I remember the Dunkel Index from when I was a little kid. It's not still around, is it?

That 2014 Ohio State team was very talented (something like nine first-round picks and 30 overall rhe next few years) and they might have won with a fourth-string QB but FSU has done all it could do - win every game.

I seem to remember the fix was in for Wisconsin in that game because the Big Ten wanted a representative in the first playoff and Wisky pretty much conceded to the Buckeyes. Ohio State wasn't a sure bet to get in before that and had survived a 2OT win over Penn State.
That said, Ohio State knocked off No. 1 Alabama and then Oregon.

Maybe FSU gets waxed in the semis but I can't see how you drop them if they win and finish undefeated. They shouldn't need to win by 30.

I know. Ohio State is just awesome, so awesome everyone wants Ryan Day gone. Ohio State had its chance and lost it. Next year they can make the 12-team playoff. This year they can enjoy oranges.

I was just pointing out the way it was at the time when they made the decision to go to 12 instead of something smaller.

I would imagine that had the 8-team setup been agreed upon, it would have been amended to the power 4 champs, the top G5 and then next three at large

I wonder what the BCS ranking would say right now.
