Yes, see TCU and Ohio State in 2014.

An Alabama win, gives the Tide the best win of the season, and they would be SEC champion.

Does that mean the Tide is more deserving than a 12-1 Texas that they lost to? Right now the committee says Texas is more deserving than Bama but minds could easily change by tomorrow.

No. Because few of those candidates will be playing on championship Saturday.

Yes, lots of teams through the years got snubbed.
I just meant since the four-team CFP started.

That depends. could be more, since the 11-12-13-14 teams will 1. All have had pretty good but not great seasons and 2. Won't have things like conference titles or (most likely) signature wins over top five teams to make it easier for the committee. More grounds for arguments because their cases will be more nebulous.

Toledo, I trusted you to make sure I didn’t have to watch Miami win the MAC. You failed me.

They (often) play in the conference title game. What's the difference if they play on Nov. 26 or Dec. 3?

Ohio State-Michigan IS the conference title game. That division's winner has won the "other" Big Ten title game something like 10 years in a row. It's an afterthought.

Scheduling format has NOTHING to do with "getting in the playoffs." Georgia was nothing for the first two decades the SEC had a championship game. It's just their turn now.

Why don't the other conference heavyweights do something novel and BEAT them for once?

I LOVE that one. How many snow games were in the Big Ten this season?
