I hate this time of year amlso.

I complained about it and somebody told me that sunset starts getting later in the first week of December. This fact completely changed my perspective. If I can get to early December and later sunsets, I can make it until the shortest day of the year.

    Your typical Kansas road sign:

Pretty cool day in downtown Buffalo (I'm not there, just a photo I saw). Sixteen (16) inches of lake-effect snow in my little hometown earlier this week. If not for winter I'd move back there in a heartbeat.

The sunsets are at their maximum earliest now and will slowly get later, which is weird because sunrises don't begin earlier until Jan. 9 or so.

We have sunset at 4:35 p.m. for the next 13 days before it starts to get later.

Still have 21 more days of less daylight per day, but only four more minutes will be lost between now and the solstice.

I think we have bottomed out at 5:16 p.m. and will stay consistently there for the next two weeks.

Sun will not set at 5:16 here until around the Super Bowl. Set at 4:12 yesterday.

Just looked at the week-ahead forecast for my little spot on the east coast of Australia. Friday’s high: 41. That’s 41 C.

That is the equivalent of 106ºF in early June in North America. In Dallas that would set a record, but wouldn't blow it way (record high for June 2 is 104ºF).

Huge storm? December? Watch for Panzer Divisions assembling in the Ardennes.

Atmospheric river in the PNW the next 2-3 days. Raining cats, digs, sheep and cows for the last 24 hours in Microville.
