ESPN plays the same role in college football as the old IBC and Jim Norris did for boxing in the '40s except Blinky Palermo and Frank Costello aren't involved.

They might. I don’t see any way to arrive at emphatic. I promise you Bevo is for real this year.

I looked and didn’t see “SEC automatic bid” either.

Similar records is the thing they are hanging a hat on. Alabama is similar because their one loss is similar to no losses … wait, it isn’t…

FSU’s QB 1 should win the Heisman.

The NFL should have kicked the 1990 NY Giants and the whatever-year Eagles out of the playoffs after Simms and Wentz got hurt.

The ACC is a power conference alongside the others in the same sense Volkswagen is a German car brand alongside BMW and Mercedes.

This emphatic bad take would hold more water if Texas didn’t beat Alabama at Alabama. Alas…

The next time I hear so much as one peep about "the ACC gets X" again, remember this.

On a much smaller scale, two years ago, a top-seeded NCSU women's basketball team had to play No. 2 seed Connecticut – in Bridgeport. For a spot in the Final Four. (And yeah ... I brought up women's basketball. It has been discussed on occasion in the BKC/BKW thread. Deal with it.)

While I know Boo headed the committee, how much pull does that really mean he has?

Also, the next time someone tries to start it up ... the ACC is a basketball conference. Obviously, all of John Swofford's work went by the boards for an unbeaten ACC champion who also won the conference championship football game gets left out.

On to basketball season. As BYM2 said well, this is why college football and its "method" in determining a national champion makes itself a complete joke.

It's gonna suck when the national championship game is decided by less than 58 points.

That's kind of a dumb argument, because any of these four teams — and you can throw Georgia, Ohio State and Oregon in there as well — are good enough to beat any of the others on a given Saturday. Any of them beating the other would not be a massive, earth-shaking upset.

As we all know, ESPN made the committee take Bama.

This is how the next wave of terrorists are created in the US.

Seminoles first stop should be Toomer’s Corner to practice their arborist skills.
