To clarify, I was more referencing Maddow's roundabout way of getting to her point in relation to Songbird's "long way home" than Carville's accent. I spent a few childhood years in Southeast Louisiana and know the accent well.

Both, the thick accent ... and he grins and dances and drops little nuggs for 20 minutes before getting to the thing he wants to say.

Interesting you say that. I think Maddow is incredibly smart and good at her job. But the 25-minute lead-up to her main point has grown weary to me. On occasion it's useful. But the tactic, to me, has grown stale.

In other words, "Don't bore us, get to the chorus."

I guess the Maddow bit is a good way to burn off air time and sometimes it's informative. But last Monday she burned off the whole hour to get to the Liz Cheney interview at the end.
