Once lived a block from one on a beachfront. Ate there WAY too much. Then, a hurricane blew it away. Problem solved.

Years ago, Krispy Kreme was good, solid donuts top-to-bottom. They are a ghost of their former greatness now. If you can get them fresh, the glazed are still good, and a few seconds in the microwave can revive the glazed if it's not too old. But the other stuff is middling at best. Dunkin is way better for other donuts, IMO. Never had Tim Horton's, though. They haven't reached Oklahoma and will probably be a spell before they do.

Denison, TX seems a weird recipient of Midwestern stuff like Freddy's and Culver's lately, so maybe there's a reverse flow from the Metroplex and a short trip might not be out of the question.

The Boston Kreme doughnut from Dunkin is the finest doughnut in all the land.

In the '80's Dunkin bought Mr. Donut, which had so much better donuts. I still miss the place. Dunkin is dry and small.

    I do, and I'm not.
Now go shovel some snow, and bring me a beer.

Agree with YMCA B-Baller: Dunkin > Hortons. Munchkins are better and fresher than TimBits, at least in my experience.

There are three levels of Krispy Kreme:

    Bad: store bought.

Ok: in store, but not hot.

Great: when the hot doughnuts neon is lit.

One more thing: A company based in the South is proud of repetitive "K"s really isn't thinking things through.

Dunkin is spreading like wildfire in Indiana and Western Ohio. Every new development is including one.

I like to go get my coffee there and wait in the car for 25 minutes while my wife waits in line for Starbucks, just to laugh at her for waiting that long for burnt coffee.

As an aside, Duck Donuts is the fucking worst.

Even my 7-year-old daughter, who would eat donuts at every meal if I let her, hates them.
