Good God. It have been that long since Kobe won real championships. This is pathetic.

There seem to be increasing rumblings that Pistons brass are taking more-than-casual looks at Las Vegas, Seattle and Anaheim. So they've been warned.

I was at the game when they beat the Suns and Wemby dropped 38. I walked away thinking this was a playoff team and Wemby was an all-star.

That was November 3rd. They haven't won a game since.

The arena is only about six years old. When does the lease expire?

Speaking of moving, a state “panel” approved a plan last night to build a new sports complex for the Wizards and Capitals in Virginia.

If it happens, that would leave only one Big 4 “Washington” team actually in the District.

Maybe 10 years ago now I went to a Mystics game at Capital One Arena (Verizon Center at the time) with an aunt who loves the WNBA.

I've been to a lot of NBA and college arenas in my 40+ years on this earth. Some new, some old, some amazing and some dumps. But that's the only place I've ever had a rat scurry down my aisle during a game.

Would be too bad. I enjoy the gameday vibe around Capital One and it's remarkably easy to get in and out of, even driving. Multiple cheap parking garages in the area and the Metro stops right at the arena.

It would be good for me since I’m only three Metro stops away from Potomac Yard. I just don’t know where they would put it. That neighborhood has exploded, and it’s not like they can tear down what’s there now, most of which has been built in just the last five years. They’re currently building a huge Virginia Tech satellite campus in the only spot I can think of that would work for something like this.

That said, I’ve been to Capital One plenty of times, and I just don’t buy what the media is trying to sell about Chinatown slowly turning into a lawless hellhole. It’s fine. And even if it wasn’t, as you said, the Metro stop is literally right outside the door to the arena.
