Yes. Yes. You should be able to. No.

Nice work on trying to change the issue. Any thoughts on the woman in Texas and the new laws we're actually discussing?

I'm replying to your reductive logic, not about the underlying issue.

You have to hope for a Hail Mary at this point — Alito or Thomas croak. That’s your game plan. At least Democrats control the Senate this time. For now.

Super. When you want to discuss the underlying issue I'll get back to you.

Well, I would hope you could come up with more than a clearly flawed bumper sticker slogan.

"Just fucking die" is a pretty accurate bumper sticker slogan for what's going on for women in Texas.

Again, not what I'm getting at.

Well, then you’re not doing a good job of making your point. Personally, I respond better to posts with a bit less oozing pomposity.

To be direct in my point, which I think I was sufficiently so in my first post, 'het body, her choice' is a horribly simplistic argument that ignores basic facts.

You’re entitled to that opinion. Which is all that it is to be sure.

Can you explain why it is 'her body, her choice' in one situation, but absolute medical autonomy isn't an actual reality? Probably would require a little more thought and not fit on a bumper sticker.

I heard a rather interesting term today. A pro-lifer said he thought this woman should be able to have the abortion. But, he said, he is opposed to “recreational abortion.”

There’s no such thing as “recreational abortion.”
