They were grabbing flagpoles, fence posts, doorknobs, bannister knobs, rakes and shovels and implements of destruction, all considered in many instances as deadly weapons.

But to them “weapons” means guns. And you only need one person in the group with one for the group to be armed.

Yeah that’s not how executive orders work and not how you pull off suspending the Constitution.

    Well yes actually it is.
Presidential executive orders can indeed be overruled by majority vote of both houses of Congress, or vacated by federal court rulings.
Until that occurs they are considered to have the force of law.

In the real world presidents rarely if ever issue executive orders which have any realistic possibility of being reversed by act of Congress, or which would be likely to be reversed in court. They know the courts and the military would almost certainly refuse to back their authority.

These are all established norms which have been observed for over 225 years.

    Ok, dingus.

What do you think a president would need to keep the courts and the Congress to enforce this order and tell me why he’d need an Executive Order in the first place.

Secondly, executive orders give direction to enforce rules and laws established by Congress. It’s why a president can’t just Executive Order infinity dollars to go to Ukraine. That isn’t how that works. He can send resources already given to him but once Congress says “that money can’t be spent that way because we don’t authorize it” it’s over.

But sure, dingus, tell me again how they have the power but don’t use it.

Executive orders do have the force of law, assuming they are legal. They can be overridden by congress or the courts (checks and balances).
They can be simply undone by another EO or by the next POTUS. Look at how many EOs Trump singed on day 1 just to undo what Obama had put in place and how many Biden did on day 1 to undo Trump's junk.
